Annual Report 2023 Palestinian Circus School

June 22, 2024

The past year posed immense challenges for both Palestine and the Palestinian Circus School. Amid the prevailing instability and political tensions in the West Bank in 2023, Gaza was contended with atrocities after the 7th of October. The mass killing of Palestinians by the Israeli Occupation Forces, extensive de-struction of buildings, cut of electricity and water, and the blockade preventing the entry of essential medical and food supplies, all resulted in a shocking humanitarian crises.

In addition, our Social Program Coordinator, our friend and colleague Mohammad Abu Sakha, was ab-ducted by the Israeli Occupation Forces on the 9th of June, and while he was on his way to visit his family in Jenin. Mohammad was sentenced twice to 6 months of Administrative Detention - a globally criticized practice allowing detention without formal charges or trial, with the potential for extensions.
Furthermore and tragically, one of our former students from Al Farra Refugee Camp, Rami Aboushi, was brutally killed by the Israeli occupation forces during an incursion to the camp.

Despite facing these complex challenges, our unwavering commitment to resilience, creativity, and the fundamental mission of the Palestinian Circus School persists. This annual report presents a summary of our journey, activities and programs in 2023, and the enduring strength of our community in the face of substantial adversities.

ASIMO - the new show of the Palestinian Circus school

May 5, 2022

We live in a society where external pressures, teachings and opinions often influence and condition our worldviews and human development.

But these worldviews can also be deconstructed, opinions can change and pressures can be alleviated.
Let us discover how, in the end, the values that best guide us are those that favour "all together", sharing our ideas and exchanging our skills and knowledge. All these cogs must fit together for the machine to work efficiently. Through circus, choreography and theatre, ASIMO offers a journey into the world of a mad scientist's invention and the discoveries he made.
